Reading list

  • How Children Fail by John Holt. Holt argues that children fail primarily "because they are afraid, bored, and confused." This, combined with misguided teaching strategies and a school environment that is disconnected from reality and "real learning", results in a school system that kills children’s innate desire to learn.
  • Goal Mapping - the practical workbook by Brian Mayne. Mayne as a few mantras for internalisation. I liked this book because it plugged into my own thinking. I agreed with everything. He seemed to take what I think and formalise it.
