RSS Feed how-to for ordinary websites

  • Copy this into a notepad file, and rename the file oneword.xml
  • Place the file in the main root directory on your site and put all your feed into it.
  • Then use a feedburner, I use 'Feedburner' to publish your feed to an address... follow the instructions.
  • Then just add the RSS logo and make it clickable on your own site.
  • You can let your users know that Outlook has a feedreader now, so they can have the feed delivered to their inbox... or to any feedreader they use.
  • Tips: include dates, make sure your title is clear about what the content is of your feeditem, so that people know if they want to click and read more. Your description should be no more than 100 words MAXIMUM and 30 IDEAL.
