Streaming audio on the Mac (OSX 10.4, Tiger)

I had a little chat with one of the companies that organise radio streaming for about 10-15 radio stations (14.03.2006) and I couldn't come right. They are not Mac friendly. But here are the results in case there are other strugglers out there. If the company adds this under their help section, I will take it down here.

Dear CENSORED,

FAILED
Your suggestions didn't work. My Activex scripting is on. I tried copying both addresses into Quicktime and Real One, and iTunes and I got the response "URL is not valid". I don't know what application is associated with .asx with you as there seem to be several possibilities, so I couldn't do it direct. I would like to try this route if you can tell me how.

I tried Opera too, got your test page that says "hahah".

SUCCEEDED
But this did work. I downloaded Firefox and Windows Media Installer for Mac. I installed Windows Media Installer after I installed Firefox (I did do it the other way round at first, but it didn't work), and then went to your URL at

http://CENSORED (this is their standard online address to click on, where the PC people would go)

and double clicked. The ActiveX loaded with no additional settings changed in Firefox preferences.

Thanks, though
Tanya
